these are just some older pictures of tyler that i found on my memory card and re-edited. i've got some new software that i've been playing around with too, so these were my trials.

unexpected

i shot this picture of joel when he didn't know i was going to take one. the best pictures of him, as with many people, are the ones he's not expecting.

'round town

i stopped by my sister's house today after work and ended up leaving with two kids. i took mara and joel with me and we went to the arboretum and the park across from the college. it's been a really nice day so far- too nice to waste away indoors.

lazy days

over the last few days i've just been reworking some old photos i've taken, trying out new things. it seems like i'm still learning something new every day!

i'm setting up senior photo sessions right now, too. i've got flexible hours for working parents and teens looking to get some pictures in before the school year starts. i'm really excited about being able to produce a lot of options for the kids i photograph.

retouching

i know a lot of people struggle with facial blemishes and are especially concerned when having their picture taken. here is an example of how i retouch photos to ensure that you are the focus of your portrait, not your acne.

cameron and elizabeth: the engagement

last week, i travelled down to coldwater to take some engagement photos for my friends from high school. they're a great couple, so naturally, we got some great shots.

backdrops and photolamps

i finally got my new backdrops and lamps in the mail today, and i couldn't be happier with them! these are just a few pictures i took to try out the new equipment.

plan c

joel and i went all over battle creek tonight. we went to the kimball pines trails in wattles park, but left pretty quickly because the mosquitoes were horrendous. we had originally planned to go to the historic bridge park, but that plan was foiled because it is still closed down due to the oil clean up along the river. we ended up just driving back into town and walking around for a while.

downtown girl

yesterday, my niece mara and i went for a walk by the river downtown. it was nice to spend some time by ourselves together, since she's usually accompanied by her three siblings. i posted some of her goofy pictures, too, so you can really see what kind of a girl she is. :)
